gesture navigation in contextual menus

This interface design focuses on simple communication. Every information is related to contacts, that form the main visual element.

All functions are organized in contextual menus. They are reduced to four basic needs that a mobile device should satisfy:
Making a call, writing different kinds of messages (email, text message, instant message), locating or route planning and organizing mass data (media, calender).

For faster navigation it is possible to use gestures in four directions. An experienced user is able to reach the requested functions without looking at the display.
Users who have not learned the menu structure yet can scroll and zoom the context menu to reach submenu entries without navigating through the whole hierarchy.

Settings, the most confusing part of most mobile navigation, are seperated from the main structure and can be reached with a button at the side of the mobile device. This menu is context sensitive as well and offers only relevant options.
